Deep Tek’s onsite operation with the same length of 28 mm diameter fibre rope in 3000 metres water depth, over four seasons, using a drum winch; though successful in the terms of rope life, highlighted the requirement for even layering of the rope when using larger diameters.

Much experimentation by the Company led to the development of its unique drum profile, which, with the aid  of programmed spooling, guides the rope in angled layers across the drum barrel with minimal flange loading and no cutting-in.
